Born and raised in Central Illinois, Shawn's career started as a co-writer.  The first song he co-wrote, landed airplay on several local radio stations and he began performing in venues statewide.  A steady growth of songs and confidence gave birth to Shawn "TiL Dawn" as a recording artist.  His career began to rise to a new level with the release of “WE DA BEARS” The #1 Chicago Bears Anthem, which was downloaded in 36 countries.  This song also landed him radio play on Chicago’s KISS FM, The Loop, several radio stations, 3 live performances on WGN Morning News and a show at the House of Blues. Shawn continued to develop as an artist, hosting parties and performing at venues all over Chicago.  He doesn't refer to himself as a rapper, yet considers himself more of an entertainer bringing an enjoyable presence and energy during his live shows.  He has been known to bring multiple outfits and props to entertain the crowd during his set. While on vacation in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he drew inspiration for an anthem that encourages people to visit the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.  TiL Dawn teamed up with veteran recording artist PRism, who was voted Chicago’s Best Reggaeton artist 3 times to write and record the lyrics.  The music production was created by a highly regarded Puerto Rican producer Suave, who also produced records for Daddy Yankee, Wisin Y Yandel, Don Omar and other highly successful Latin recording artists.  The TiL Dawn Productions team landed on the beaches of San Juan and created the music video properly titled “Puerto Rico” Logan Square is the host neighborhood of the Puerto Rican Day Festival and was the home to “TiL Dawn” for 5 years.  Even though Shawn is not himself Puerto Rican, he has always felt completely embraced by Boriquas and has performed at the Puerto Rican Festival 4 times. Recently, Shawn and PRism opened for Nina Sky at the Green Dolphin and collaborated on a new single “Be Aight” which is viewable on his page  HYPERLINK "" Throughout his 5 years in Chicago, Shawn’s production company TIL DAWN PRODUCTIONS operated a recording studio in which Shawn also developed his skills as a recording engineer.  He developed strong relationships with other rising Chicago artists such as Big Hit Buda, Leno XTR, SpeakEasy, Janky, and J Beck.  Shawn til Dawn and J Beck performed at multiple venues in Chicago with their live band. Currently, Shawn has been traveling and living out of Illinois via Los Angeles and Costa Rica for the last half year.  He is wrapping up production for his latest mixtape “THE FRESHNESS” due out in the spring and preparing to release his first solo album “CHILAX” in the summer of 2011
